Mexican: Mezcal Margarita

(serves 1)

Ingredients:
- 1 slice of lime for garnish
 - Salt (or ground chapulines) for rimming the glasses
 - 2-3 slices of jalapeño 
 - 2 jiggers mezcal
 - 1 jigger Cointreau (or Triple Sec)
 - 1 lime, juiced (approx 2 tablespoons)
 - ¾ jigger agave nectar (approx 2 tablespoons)
 - Ice cubes 
 
Procedure:
- Rub rim of glass with a slice of lime
 - Fill a shallow bowl with salt (or ground chapulines), dip the rim into the salt until it is covered; set aside
 - Muddle the jalapeño in a cocktail shaker
 - Add mezcal, Cointreau, lime juice, and agave nectar to a cocktail shaker; shake or stir until combined
 - Fill glass with ice, pour in the margarita mixture over the rocks
 - Garnish with an extra lime slice if desired
